Bluegrass is Great!
We just came back from the Pickin Barn. It is about a half mile down the road (well, its almost a road) from us. We thought that tonight was the night for the monthy show but when we got there Janice Burgess, the neighbor who owns/runs the place, told us that they were only having a jam session tonight. She told us to grab a chair and enjoy, which we did for several hours.
There were usually 12-15 people in a circle who were part of the jam session, people moved in and out, and 20-40 of us watching and listening. The singing and playing was great, especially the lady with the bass (it was bigger than her). One of the highlights was watching two little girls, maybe 8-10 years old, dancing barefoot to the faster songs. During one of those songs there were 4 or 5 of the more senior ladies dancing and one of the musicians commented that if they had played one more chorus they would have had to call 911 for the ladies. Those two girls and a somewhat older boy were the only people in the place who were less than 40. My guess is that there weren't 8 people, including the kids, less than 50.
This morning we got everything unloaded and into our building without a problem. Kathy will probably head back to the Indy area tomorrow, to drop of the U-Haul trailer, take the truck to Doug and Anthony's and pick up the check for our home on Tuesday morning. The plan is that she will head back to TN in the CRV after she picks up the check.
It was really nice here this morning but warmed up around mid-day. It is supposed to get into the high 50's tonight, great sleeping weather.
Good night to all and may God bless you and yours.
