Weather Beautiful Today
The weather was awesome today. The high was 77 and the low last night was 55. It is supposed to get down to 53 tonight but hit 80 tomorrow.
Kathy took me to work this morning and Arnold Herzing brought me home so that she didn't have to come back to get me. It is about an 8 mile drive over to the plant from the campground but takes about 15 minutes since you drive through the length of Lenoir City. The have already come up with more things for me to work on while I am down here. I now have to make sure they understand that when I gave them an estimate of the cost of my coming down for two weeks it was to do the work they had asked about and that it did not include the extra work they now want done. I doubt that will be a problem
The old Ford car is an early 60's Falcon. The truck probably is a similar age. I forgot my phone when I went for a walk so I didn't take any photos.
Now for the story about backing around in the parking lot. The lot at the place where we had the brakes installed was small and they were working on their 3500 dually so they couldn't move it. There was also another car and a motorhome parked on it. I had driven in forward and we had to turn the motorhome around in order to hook the car back up to check things out and to be able to tow it out of the lot. I told the guy that I was really a newbie to driving it and that I would appreciate all the input he could give me. He told me how he thought I should turn around. I pulled ahead and was backing up, watching him as he was directing me. I was also watching a mailbox to make sure I didn't swing the front end into it as I backed around. The unfortunate part was that I was not watching the backup camera and he was not watching his RV. A crashing noise told me that I had backed up as far as I could. I knocked a mirror off his RV and punched a hole through the fiberglass cowl above the engine. The next try and I got right where I needed to be. We decided that he would fix his mirror and I would fix my fiberglass. The "hole" is in an exterior piece of fiberglass so weather is not an issue.
After our walk last night Kathy layed down on the sofa and immediately fell sound to sleep for at least an hour. She then got up, took a shower and went to bed. She said she slept really well. Today she bought groceries and ran errands, after dropping me off in Loudon at 7:45. After that she cleaned the RV since she had not had time to do much since we got it out of storage.
