Power Outage

The power to the campground went out last night. I didn't have our inverter switched to standby mode so when we lost AC power my CPAP quit working. It doesn't take long for me to wake up when that happens. It was a little after 2 AM. I got up and looked out to see that the entire campground was dark, even the few street lights that are normally on. In the distance I could see lights so I think the outage may have been just at the campground. I switched on the inverter, so that my CPAP worked, and went back to bed. Everything was back to normal when we got up.

We attended the 11AM contemporary service, at the Christian Church of Loudon County. People were very friendly, the music was good (even though it wasn't bluegrass or southern gospel), and so was the message. Two young men, late teens, went to the altar after the message.

We ate at the marina near the Fort Loudon dam. They had a buffet. The food was okay and the view was great.
Our table was by the window on the right.

After dinner I went over to Greenback and helped with the tornado cleanup for a couple of hours. The damage appeared to me to be VERY localized. I only saw 5 places with significant damage. The only place where work was still ongoing was at a farmstead. There were around 8 people working, plus a guy on a dozer and another on a track hoe, when I got there. They must have worked all day yesterday. A couple of hours after I started everything was pretty much in piles. All that was left of a barn and several machine storage sheds was a couple of piles of scrap metal and the burn pile shown below. (I guess these people don't know that you are supposed to sit around on your butt, with your hand out, wailing because someone from the Federal government isn't here already providing you with a place to live and cleaning up the mess at your place.)

I don't know if you can make it out but on the right side of the photo, across the field, it a trailer with a carport that appeared to be undamaged.

After I got back to the RV Kathy and I watched the Nascar race, actually I napped through most of it, and then went for a walk. There are goats in a pasture field down the hill from us. The kids are really cute. They are about the size of big rabbits. The black and white ones appear to be twins, at least they get fed by the same mama goat.
