Made it to TN
We are parked at Lazy Acres Campground in Lenoir City, TN. We arrived around 7 PM.
We left home 1 PM Friday and stopped in Avon, IN for recall repairs to our refrigerator. We then headed for Evansville/Newburgh, IN. We stayed overnight in a Walmart parking lot in Newburgh. I had installed new "coach" batteries before we left home. I thought everything went well until I plugged in my CPAP machine getting ready for bed. The inverter was not working. After putzing around some, outside in the rain, I gave up on it and slept without the machine. I found out that I really do need it for a decent nights sleep. The next morning I putzed around some more with the control panel and the inverter started working. The thing still does not work the way it used to. I need to get out the books and try and reset things back the way they were. So much to learn about motorhomes.
We made our 10 AM appointment at SMI Industries with no problem, it was only about 5 minutes from the Walmart. It is a family owned buisness and they are Christians. It was great getting to visit with them while the Dad (Pete) and one of the sons (Kyle) installed the braking interconnect system on our RV and CR-V. The other son (Brent?) was working on their 3500 Dodge dually. He was doing the modern day version of "chipping" and was also going to install a more efficient exhaust system. We headed out for Crossville around 1:30 PM.
We managed to time our drive so that we hit Lebanon, TN at the right time for an early supper at Demo's. What an awesome place to eat. The one in Lebanon is as good as the one in downtown Nashville. My 15 oz rib eye was done to perfection and only $16. The only bad part was that I couldn't eat it all and had about a quarter of it in a to go box, with some great bread, and somehow I set it down before we got out of the restaurant and left it there. I was so looking forward to a late night steak sandwich, or maybe steak and eggs for breakfast.
It was dark when we finally got parked and hooked up at Tom & Mary Lou's. Dean was the first to stop by and visit for an hour. Then Tom and Merv came through on there way back from an evening church program. Tom was on cleanup duty and they didn't stop until around 10:30 PM our time (9:30 their time). We finally got to bed around midnight.
This morning we unloaded the stuff we brought down for storage and stacked it in our building. We looked around little to discuss how we wanted the rock for the driveway. Then drove around to the south side of our property and took a short walk. We picked a nice bouquet of daffodils and they are sitting beside me on the desk as I type this.
After arriving at Lazy Acres and getting hooked up we ate and took a walk around part of the campground. It is now past time for me to hit the hay. I want to leave for the plant by 7 AM.
